The Casa da Malta was a fixture of the old Alentejo estates: a communal shelter for farm workers. The Herdade da Coitadinha was no exception: workers would sleep in straw beds laid out in a communal room with a large central fireplace. We kept the Casa da Malta and turned it into a low-cost lodging unit, with capacity for 26 people, including 2 twin bedrooms and 2 double bedrooms with private bathrooms, 2 multiple rooms that can house up to 7 people and 1 other room for up to 4 people, with both male and female bathrooms.
The Casa da Malta is prepared to receive groups of young people, holiday camps or school trips.
You can rent rooms or the whole house, with included use of the fully equipped kitchen.
