The Alentejo region of Alqueva has what is the first Portuguese Dark Sky Reserve – a place committed to defending the quality of the night sky and where access to starlight is established.
The Park is part of this reserve and, due to the total absence of light pollution, Noudar is one of the best skies to observe the celestial plane.
